About
Maiko Ikeda
Licensed Educational Psychologist
With my experience as a school psychologist, I am passionate about empowering children and their parents to achieve their own goals in educational settings. Goals could be set in the areas ranging from academic progress to social-emotional development.
I enjoy providing guidance and care for children and seeing their growth together with their parents.
I have worked with public schools, charter schools, and private schools in San Diego County for over a decade, to support students from PreK-12 in achieving educational goals. With in-depth understanding of the services available in the community, I am confident in assisting you navigate the complicated system, such as the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process by consulting and collaborating with school staff, parents, and students.
I contract with local school districts when they need a Japanese bilingual school psychologist, and I regularly perform bilingual assessments on students with Japanese-speaking backgrounds.
A little about myself: I enjoy hiking, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family. I visit my family in Japan very often. I am also passionate about bilingual education.
